Chicko Chicken Castledowns

The fried chicken was decent. We ordered the boneless chicken, half yangneom and half soy gangjung. The pieces were crunchy even with sauce on them. The chicken pieces were a bit small (some about the size of wings). We also tried the shrimp onion rings, which were a bit soggy and nothing special. It was a 30 minute wait for the food though, because it was super busy and the chicken is made to order. We got free radish pickles from the owner for the long wait. Overall, it's a good Korean fried chicken spot in the Northside. Better than the Northside locations of Kokoriko and Seoul Fried Chicken. It just didn't really impress me like some of the Southside fried chicken spots. I also feel like portions were rather small for the price.

If I could give more stars I would. This is a great place to get some delicious Korean fried chicken with amazing flavor options! We did the half n half boneless. The flavors were cheese snow and yangyeom and both were so tasty! Even though the yangyeom was covered in a delicious sauce the chicken was still fresh and crispy. Steven was also a great help with us ordering for the first time. Ask Steven if youre not sure on what to order, he has great recommondations Thanks Chico Chicken!

Chicko Chicken hits the spot every time. The chicken is super crispy, juicy, and packed with flavour, especially the yangnyeom and buldak sauces. Portions are solid, and everything always tastes fresh. It’s my go-to when I’m craving legit Korean fried chicken.

I’m so happy I found this place. I’ve had their chicken like three times in a week and I think imma go for the fourth round. It’s so good, so fresh, so crispy, so delicious and their fries are also crispy. The chicken and fries and everything is always freshly made and made to order. So juicy. And the owner Steven is also very nice and welcoming to all his customers. I’d recommend this place a million times, it’s just so amazing. My go to flavour is the cheese snow it’s so scrumptious and yummy.

Owners were great and informative about their food. Chicken: loved their Soy GangJang cause it tasted like ginger beef but with chicken instead! Saved some for later and chicken stayed crispy through out. My mom loved the Haek Buldak sweet and spicy Fries: best powdered fries in town, better than potato corner imo they don’t skimp on the seasonings here.

The chicken here was amazing! The resaurant was very clean as well. I ordered the the garlic butter chicken. The flavors hit my mouth in such a way that it blew my mind. The french fries had a fluffy way about them that had me wanting to keep eating them. I will definitely go back soon! Update: I have now also tried the Honey Butter chicken. It was also very good.

First time trying this place and it didn’t disappoint. I was craving for Korean fried chicken and this place is only 7mins from my place. Highly recommend the cheese balls, crunchy with a well-balanced sweet and savory taste. Great cheese pulls too. I had to order some more for takeaway The fried chickens were seasoned to perfection, crispy and juicy, very tender just like you see in Korean mukbangs. It is a small spot but there are chairs and tables if you want to dine in. We ordered half/half deal with soy garlic and the original flavor. Will definitely try other flavors. If beer was served, it would’ve been the perfect combination as what my Fiancé said last night. Staff told us that they make everything from scratch, which actually shows with how the food quality was top notch! Service was excellent! Highly recommend this place! Wish more people can visit this place. This will be my go to place now for affordable and best quality K fried chicken

I’ll start off by saying that Steven (the owner) is a real cool cat and definitely has a passion for his restaurant and serving high quality Korean style fried chicken! His staff are very friendly and welcoming, his joint is clean and inviting with an open kitchen concept and the chicken is some of the best Korean style chicken I’ve had in Edmonton. I’ve eaten at Chicko Chicken in Vancouver many times and Steven does the franchise justice with this location. Korean chicken so authentic that they even import all their sauces from Korea…strongly recommend giving them a try! Just a heads up…this is not fast food and it takes about 15-20 for your order as they cook every order fresh! Look forward to coming back on the regular…
